Evers Bible Class
Be like a tree firmly planted by streams of water...
About the Teacher
My name is Gayle Evers, and I have a willingness to share
what I've learned at the feet of some great teachers...most
notably my grandfather, Dr. Fred H. Hall.

I do a great deal of research and study to prepare these
lessons. My hope is to give you food for thought, whether
you are a new Christian or an experienced Bible scholar.

If you're reading this, you probably are looking for some
reassurance that I'm a trustworthy guide.

So first off, let me assure you that I believe in God the Father, Jesus the Son and
the Holy Spirit. Beyond that, I try not to let my personal beliefs and doctrines
color the lessons. I'm human, of course, and have pretty strong opinions, but it's
more important to me that you be able to decide for yourself what you believe.
I think Scripture is a great way to begin to explore the depths of God for yourself.

I want to give you the information, the tools and the confidence you need to dive
into the Scripture. I want you to see how it all fits together and how it is ultimately
a great big love story...a story of God's love for you.

I am trustworthy, therefore, because I am honest and forthright. If I say something
that's my personal opinion, I'll tell you that. If I say something is Scriptural, I'll
back it up so you can see for yourself.

I'm a relatively smart cookie. I'm a National Merit Scholar, a Mary Gibbs Jones
Scholar, a CPA, and when I retired I was a Managing Director in the Investment
Bank Finance function at the worldwide headquarters of JPMorgan Chase in New
York City.

I've attended the Houston Graduate School of Theology and am currently enrolled
in the Master of Divinity program at Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary.

My background is ecumenical, having spent time in most USA church traditions
including the Church of Christ, Methodist, Lutheran, Baptist, Catholic,
Assembly of God, Presbyterian, non-denominational, interdenominational,
emerging church, contemplative and charismatic traditions. I love church. I love
people. And I can speak pretty much any denominational dialect you can throw
at me. It gives me a great perspective on the beliefs that are unique in each of
these traditions.

But in the end, I love God. And I want to share this love and excitement with you.
